The ride is great on the Interstate, on a smooth surface. So, if you do a fair amount of that kind of driving ,it is ok. My prior ride was also a Cadillac Escalade (2002). Put over 200,000 miles and traded up to this one. Never ever had reason to complain about the ride.
In the 2014, you feel every small bump in the road and it isn't pleasant. In a vehicle that cost $80,000 you expect a comfortable ride, not this! My wife and I feel like we are being thrown around in a cage.
I just recently found out that General Motors knows about this problem dating back to 2015. I guess if you don't complain there is no problem as far as Cadillac is concerned because it does not appear anything has been done about it.
Update from Nov 20, 2017: My 2014 Escalade. Feels like you are being tossed around in a cage. The dealer said the front struts were leaking and needed replacing. I had recently turned 52,000 miles, Cadillac would not honor the Bumper-to Bumper warranty after 50k. My cost of repair: $1,700. I had been happy driving an Escalade since 2002. This particular "Luxury" vehicle rides like a Volkwagon Beetle which I owned many years ago. Actually the Volkswagon had a more comfortable ride. I won't be buying another Cadillac. Cadillac has a problem with their "Magnetic Ride" suspension and refuses to acknowledge and do anything about it. Check out Consumer Reports on the 2014 Cadillac- lots of complaints.
