Right front window dropped/broke down causing a $500 repair. Three months latter the left rear window also broke causing another $500 repair. Now, in 2014 the right rear window has broken, while driving on the freeway, startling my wife and grandchild with another very loud bang! this is a continuing problem on a car that only has 48,500 miles on it, and is always parked inside a garage. There are way too many reports of this happening for the feds or GM not to do something about this failure!
All four windows are defective. They fell down one after another starting a year after purchase, and will not say up. This issue is widespread and popular with this model and year vehicle. They made a crackling sound and fell down for no reason of my own. I was quoted a price of $199 to repair each window. It is 2013 and I still haven't repaired any of the windows. This vehicle needs to be recalled to repair this factory defect. This issue is very disconcerting, embarrassing and a nuisance.
My Cadillac Deville 2004 windows have all been replaced first it was the driver side window fell all the way down could not get to go up then front passenger side made a cracking sound so I put the window down and it sound like it was going to crack then took my car to my mechanic and he says wow I have never seen a good car like Cadillac have so many window problems so now that I got these 2 fixed my mechanic says maybe exercise your windows every time you get in car so I did then it was the driver side back that got stuck and then the other went in a couple of weeks all I did was making my window S go up and down I live in the desert on a dirt road so my windows never go down at 250 dollars per window that really needs to be looked into. So now I will never roll my windows down again I have tape over the buttons so that no one will use them.

All the windows have fallen down one time or another in the past 6 months! on june28th 2011 I replaced the front passenger regulator. Just to have it fail again under four months. I only used the window three times! I have read all the complaints from other owners of this year of Cadillac power window problems and their should be a recall! this is the worst car I have ever owned. It is a hunk of junk!!! this latest regulator problem happened two hours ago! October 23rd 2011.
The contact owns a 2004 Cadillac Deville. The contact stated that the front passenger and driver side windows experienced a failure in which the glass fell down into the door panel. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who advised that the window regulators would need replacing. There were no recalls and the repairs of over $1,000 would be at the owner's expense. The contact then took the vehicle to a local mechanic who replaced all three windows. The manufacturer was notified of the failure who advised that if he had taken the vehicle to be repaired at the dealer they more than likely would have assisted with the cost of repairs. The failure mileage was 40,000. Updated 10/18/11

I have experienced two power window failures on my 2004 Deville within a one month period while driving. Windows fell into the doors, front and back, and would not raise. Both failures were on a car with 55 thousand miles on it. Dealer repaired it at the cost of $686. Contacted Cadillac customer service with them refusing to admit there is a problem and unwilling to offer any compensation toward the repairs. I am waiting for the other two to fail. Relative has a 2003 Deville and has had three windows repaired already. I feel that this is a safety issue and a recall is in order, now!
The contact owns a 2004 Cadillac Deville. While driving approximately 40 mph and closing the rear passenger side window the contact stated that he suddenly heard a snapping noise and the window suddenly fell into the door. The front driver and passenger side windows also previously experienced the same failure and were repaired. The recent failure was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.
Electric window regulator on 2004 Cadillac Deville failed. This is the 3rd one since owning the car. Each repair is over $500. The problem is a plastic clip that brakes. Unheard of.
2004 Cadillac Deville I have also had three window "regulator" (raise-lower) mechanism failures in the last year. Current mileage is about 82,000 miles and car is otherwise properly maintained. I also had the "knee bumper" below the steering wheel fall off and it too had to be replaced.
The contact owns a 2004 Cadillac Deville. While driving approximately 50 mph the rear drivers side window fell into the door panel. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where she was informed a plastic piece within the window mechanism was broken. The window was repaired. She also mentioned that this had occurred in the past on the rear passenger side window as well as the front drivers side window. The failure and current mileages were 50,000.
All four power window regulators have failed....we replaced one at approx $400, but it will be another $1000 to replace the other three so we haven't done it yet....asked Cadillac for assistance...denied, but kept pressing and they are reviewing it.
Within the past 20 months, I have had three of my window regulators break on my 2004 Cadillac dhs and have paid over $1000 to repair two of them. The third is now going to cost me $690. I contacted GM and they refused to do anything about it claiming it is not their problem. The service manager at the local dealership advised there is a problem with 2001-2004 models and their window regulators. I also notice on-line that there are many complaints about the window regulators breaking, however GM refuses to do anything about it. Is there any way that this could be looked into by the federal government and possibly cause a recall on these items because obviously GM is refusing to admit that there is a problem. Thank you for your consideration.
Over the course of the last 8-months my 2004 Cadillac dts windows' motor (front and rear, left and right) failed to raise the windows after they had been lowered. One window at a time. This is a problem on this model year (2004). Many others have had the same incident. I am lucky in that I had a warranty in effect.
April 2007 right passenger power window went out. May 2007 right rear window. Power window went out. December 2007 driver side power window has gone out. Dealer has not offered any help or compensation. They gave me the phone number for their customer service headquarters. I called, they were nice and promised to speak to the dealer. It seems the dealer has not responded to the calls from customer service. Now, customer service hasn't returned my call. I'm waiting for the fourth and final power window to go bad any minute.
