While driving 25 mph, smoke started to come from the steering wheel. The consumer managed to drive home. The dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem.
The vehicle would make a noise when driving over bumps and the driver had difficulty steering. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the mechanic replaced the sway bar links and the steering rack. Vehicle only has less than 50,000 miles. There was binding when hot and dry binding when cold, the tire were wearing on the insides and thin.
After starting the vehicle and driving approximately three to four miles the service stability control system comes on. Had it checked by a Cadillac dealer. They indicated the vehicle needs to have the steering wheel position sensor (1287) and the wheel sensor (?) (1255) ebtcm replaced at a cost of $1230
When vehicle goes over a dip the front end hits the ground. The dealer has not been able to duplicate the cause of problem. Consumer states that the brakes and the steering get very hard, there is no set time when this happens, consumer is afraid to drive vehicle.
