Consumer received a recall letter on her 1996 Cadillac Deville in 09-2004. She called the dealer, keyser brothers Cadillac to set up an appointment. The dealer told the consumer the parts were not available. She called back in 11-04 and 11-11 and they still didn't have the parts. She called again in 2-05 and on 7-8-05 still no parts. She offered to drop it off and leave it overnight and he refused. He told her he could only fix the car during the week while she had to work. He didn't work on saturdays. 1997 Cadillac Deville has problems with fuel rail as well as the fuel pump. The consumer took the vehicle to dealer to have the recall performed. The consumer stopped smelling gas for awhile, but the problem seems to have resurfaced. The vehicle stalled, back fired and there was a loss of rpms. Over the years 2 fuel pumps have been replaced in an attempt to correct the problem and on 5 occasions the vehicle had to be towed.
Consumer smelled a gasoline odor around the vehicle, after inspection of the vehicle, the consumer located a fuel leakage behind a metal plate where fuel was leaking from the plastic fuel rail tubing.
PE 03 050 concerning fuel rail leaks. Consumer smelled fuel odor while driving or idling. Vehicle was being inspected by a repair shop. Manufacturer was notified. Recall# 04V110000. The consumer request reimbursement.
