AS A DISABLED VIETNAM MILITARY VETERAN I CANNOT TAKE MY 1993 CADILLAC SEDAN DEVILLE ON THE HIGHWAY OR ANYPLACE ELSE, BECASUDE THE CAR'S ENGINE JUST STOPS(SHUTS OFF).
For the last 3 months we have had it to more then 4 mechanic shops. First they changed the plugs and wires, cleaned the fuel injectors, new rotor plus, new computer connected to old diagnostic system, new alternator, new battery and so on. Three months ago it started back firing sputtering, cutting out, etc. Finally when they installed the new computer it started running good, but would just shut off the engine. It would run for more then 25 minutes on the highway, but would eventually just shut off the engine, but every time would start right back up with no problem. I have been told it can be the key with the chip in it. It can be the ignition system. It can be the fuel pump pressure.
I BELIEVE THESE CARS WITH COMPUTERS ARE VERY DANGEROUS ON THE ROAD. WHAT IF IT JUST SHUTS OFF WITH A RIG BEHIND YOU. IT SEEMS LIKE THERE ARE NO MECHANICS TO FIX MAJOR PROBLEMS LIKE THIS.WHO WOULD BE AT FAULT IF SOMEONE IS KILLED. I FEEL IT SHOULD BE THE GM MANUFACTURE OF THE CAR. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!
