I have been pulled over by the POLICE so many times I can't count. It has been a pain in the ass. I have to keep turning the lights on when I go to work. It has caused me to hit a tree limb that was in the middle of the road because it is dark when I go to work. also I have to replace the whole headlight housing because of the light going out and I didn't see the limb in the road. THEY SHOULD be made to help people with this problem.

The lights just simply go off unexpectedly. All dash, headlights, taillights for no reason. It happens all of the time so we simplly do not drive the car at night anymore. . We bought this car new snd it cost nearly 50,000. Dollars. It is the last Cadillac we will ever buy. The dealer insists it is a short but offers no concrete analysis. I just wonder how many accidents have occurred because of this problem? My elderly mother who purchased the car initially ,complained about the lights constantly . We just assumed she was doing something wrong. When she died we started driving the car and within short order experiencing the problem almost immediately.

The flickering started about a year ago, but was very sporadic and more of a distraction than anything. The local dealership replaced the headlamp at what I considered a very healthy price. For about four months everything seemed to be working fine, but then flickering began again, but not as frequently.

About three weeks ago my wife and I were driving through some very remote NM desert and foothill mixed terrain and the left headlight, both low and high beam failed altogether. The lack of visibility along with an area well populated by deer, antelope, elk and other small animals made the next 1 and 1/2 hours go a lit slower and always wondering if the right side would fail also. When we finally got home I verified the left lights were not working.

Later in the evening I went out to the car to get something out of it and when I hit the unlock button both headlights came on. I got in the car and checked a little more with the lights still working. Last night, in the same area of the state as dusk settled in it appeared that the lights came on, but it was still too light to really tell. When we got home I again verified that both high and low beams were not working on the left side. For some reason, curiosity or what I don't know, but I turned the ignition off and then back on again and both lights on both sides were working again.

No idea what the problem is, but with a long trip to California coming up soon I need to get the problem resolved, and soon!
