The contact owns a 2006 Cadillac Dts equipped with dextero touring dtr1 tires, size: 225/55/R17 (na). The contact stated that his wife's co-worker noticed bubbles on the sidewall of the front driver's side tire. The vehicle was taken to an auto center where it was diagnosed that the tire needed to be replaced. The contact was advised to pay out of pocket and seek reimbursement; however, the tire was out of stock. The tire was not replaced. The manufacturer was notified and did not assist. The contact was advised to call NHTSA. The approximate vehicle and tire failure mileage was 148,000. The dot number was not available.
: the contact stated while driving 70 mph on dry asphalt, the left front tire violently deflated without warning, spinning the vehicle 360 degrees. The vehicle was thrown into a guard rail. There was a police report filed at the scene. The tire size was P235/55R17.
: the contact stated while driving 55 mph the vehicle had a blow out of the sidewall in the passenger side front tire. A few weeks later the contact discovered both the right front and rear tires were flat. Air appeared to be seeping through sections of the sidewall. The vehicle has been inspected by the dealer and the tires were replaced. The tires are Goodyear vogue Y trac touring II H rated. Updated 3/20/2006 -
