2007 Suburban, Z71 with a 5.3 V8. Had to have a bunch of parts replaced in the transmission lst week. Was driving the truck and noticed the transmission was slipping or not changing gears. Called the dealer and was told to bring it in. By the time I got there, I had to run the engine close to 5,000rpm just to get it to move. Trans fluid burnt, trans temp got to 236degrees. Advised service rep of this and he kinda almost stated that there had been problems with the transmissions in the Tahoe, Suburban, and Yukon. Then he back up a bit and tried to say the winter was rough on the transmissions. You kidding me? Winter? Don't snow plow with the truck, sh*t try not to even go out in the snow. Started reading other sites and it seems like there's a lot of folks with the same issues. I just bought a transmission cooler from the dealer to try to keep the trans cooler but after reading other peoples problems, I don't think this is going to work. GM fixed it this time and since I purchased the extended coverage, I think they will be fixing it again. I've always had Chevy products and never had an issue like this. I used to beat on all of them because they were leased so i didn't care much and never had a problem. This one I treat really well because I financed it and planned on keeping it for a while. If there are any other issues with this vehicle, I may say goodbye to GM. Even the wife's Cadillac has never had a problem, an thats 7 yrs old with 90,000 miles..
