This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that have an engine overheat concern or cooling fans are inoperative. Technician may find Diagnostic Trouble Codes P0480, P0691, P0692, or P1258 may be set. Technician will use a scan tool to active the fan. If the electric cooling fan stops working then replace the Cooling Fan Control Module.
