Paint on hood, top, and trunk lid fading off. Car was manufactured in lake orion Michigan. Heard many of the same complaints from this same assembly plant. Is there a class action lawsuit on this matter, very angry and concerned.

Car has less than 40K miles. Noticed what seemed to be very small scratches on top surfaces of vehicle. Upon closer inspection, looks like the paint is fading down to bare metal. The fading paint is hard to notice and recognize, but after washing you can see the dull areas easily. Noticed problem on hood 2 years ago, paid $1900 to have it repainted before realizing this is a common issue. GM body shop said the paint is "checking". caused by improper oem application. Since car is 5 years old, not covered under warranty. $2900 to repair!!

Verano 4-cyl

I purchased this vehicle and the next day the front seat belts began to rattle, and there is an air noise on the passenger side window. We told the dealership and they said they would have to have the car for several days. We told them we were on our way and that we would just have it fixed when the oil required changing. We finally took the car into the dealership and the next day we were told the car was ready. When we went to pick up the car they said that they could not fix the seat belts nor could they fix the air leak. They said it was a designed flaw. We called GMC and they stated they could not fix it and that all Veranos had the same problem.

Verano 4-cyl

  • 4,000 miles
I was parking my Verano in a flat parking space (no hills) on dry pavement. I was in the space, I took my foot off the accelerator and stepped on the brake to put it in park, but before I could get it in park, the engine revved up, and the car torpedoed like a rocket (very fast) over the parking barrier into a three or four foot drainage ditch, which stopped the car from shooting across on-coming traffic in the street. As the car jumped across the parking barrier, I tried to brake and the car still would not stop. The car ended up face first in the ditch with damage to the front end. I have had the dealer examine the car, but they found nothing wrong. I also made a claim to GM and they are investigating the situation. So far, I've been researching a found a blog on edmonds.com about two other people with the same problem of sudden acceleration without warning. One of the people has contacted me and they said it went through a wall in a neighbors house, they got the car repaired, and then it happened again!!! I am afraid to drive the car even if the car gets repaired. Hopefully the problem will be found before someone gets seriously injured or killed. Now that this has happened, my husband and I are wondering if the experiences of bursts of acceleration on the highway every so often (not all the time) are related to the accident I had. We just figured that it was the turbo kicking in"??"
