I purchased a new Buick rendezvous with 5500 miles on it (demo) from the dealer three weeks ago (6/30/2005). The sticker discloses average city miles per gallon at 18, and 25 mpg hwy. My wife and I are retired so we wanted a vehicle that gets good gas economy. After a very short time of use(2 days), I informed the GM dealer that I was not happy with the vehicle and that I wanted my money back because of very poor gas economy. The dealer ran many many test and said that the car was operating in "normal specifications". GM did a controlled test that showed 12mpg city and 17mpg hwy. I told them that the sticker shows 18 city and 25 hwy and I am a slow retired driver. I also advised them that I also just purchased a new Chrysler 300 and the gas economy was better than the sticker of 18 city and 27 hwy, so it's not my driving habits, it's the fraudulent advertising of GM or the car itself. GM representatives said that they could do nothing about it. I said I could. I would never purchase another GM vehicle and try to influence my children, grandchildren and friends to never purchase from such a company either. As far as I'm concerned I would like the general public know how GM treats it's customers. If I wouldn't loose so much money I'd sell this Buick today. As far as I'm concerned I know why GM is going into the "tank". Hope they get there soon.
