Driving car...cable disconnects...no ability to switch to any gears! Pulled over & was able to have someone put it back on (it just slides on) and hold it until I got into gear (while car was running) and then I was able to drive to the mechanic. Apparently the piece is made of plastic!!! and gets worn out. It was $75 for the Shift Control Cable the remaining cost was labor. If I had been in a dangerous area, or the highway, it could have placed us in a life-threatening situation. There was no hard shifting or noise beforehand...no indication it was going to fail.
