Car battery died. Had it tested at Auto Zone. Charged battery. Showing Alternator problem. Took to mechanic. Alternator was not bad. The wires to it had melted & were touching/shorting out. Battery was showing weak, so just replaced it also.
Repaired wires-$40
New Battery-$120
Total cost (includ labor): $160
