Rendezvous

Like the others, my 2002 Buick Rendezvous suddenly started eating oil around 75K miles and continues to do so. There is no leak where I park. Nobody can see oil leaking inside. It is definitely worse on long trips, e,g. over 500 miles and traveling at high speeds. It doesn't matter if the long trip is in cold weather or hot weather as traveled from Memphis to Iowa in the very cold of winter, and I traveled from Memphis to Florida recently in the warm weather. But, it eats oil even for local small trips. I am fearing the worst. Jiffy Lube keeps topping off the oil and I lose a quart about every 1,000 miles. I have tried high mileage oil and synthetic oil, but it doesn't matter. Someone please guide me to an answer!

Rendezvous CXL 3.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 60,000 miles

I have gone through 3 quarts of oil in 2 weeks in my Rendezvous, and I think that it's a bit excessive in my opinion. No obvious signs of leakage or smoking when running.

Any ideas?

Rendezvous CXL 3.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 98,000 miles

I own a 2002 Buick Rendezvous that just started to use oil but shows no signs of it any where. I am very mechanically inclined and checked all the possible places that would show oil burn off or leaks- plugs, aircleaner, exhaust, where I park ect and have found no indication except on my dip stick. This seems to only happen on long road trips. This is the most baffling problem I have encountered in the 14 years I have serviced my own vehicles. Can someone help me.

Rendezvous CXL AWD 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 68,000 miles

burns 1 qt of oil per week. no smoke or leaks. any ideas?

I purchased my first American car/SUV, a 2002 Buick Rendevous CXL, AWD, factory wheels, etc - Loaded with 68,000 miles on 5/07 - "BUICK'S FLAGSHIP" (vs the last 10 years, Toyotas -12ea) because my friend is a broker and he told me your quality is a lot better now then before, WELL NOT TRUE, within the first week i had to replace a defective gas tank it took an act of congress to get one (2003 and up had recalls but of course not mine) i had to call and wait 2 weeks and get approval to get one, $1500. Next A/C broke, transmission, brakes, sunroof, overheating, burning oil (1 qt per week). Bottom line, I've spent more on my Buick to repair than 10 years of "NO REPAIRS AT ALL" on my vehicles with some over 100,000 miles - my Toyotas. WHY????????? I'll never buy another GM anything. A very disappointed American in our lousy quality.
