condenser needed to be replaced because it had a microscopic fracture in the front mounting bracket that is part of the condenser. Bad design. Buick has since updated and replaced condenser per bulletin #02-01-38-004. They realized they had a problem with this condenser set up but will not admit it. This has happened to several vehicles in this area with the-2002 models. My mechanic told me he has seen this exact problem 6 to 8 times with the Aztec and Buick models in the 2000-2002 models in his shop alone. I am in the process of trying to get Buick to help me out with this bill of 800.00. So far they are not admitting to any problem. I know there is a problem with this part because they changed the design in the later models.
