Purchased my 2002 cxl in 2010 with only75,000 miles on it,in cold weather so turned on air but dealer said it is automatic control with temperature outside so not knowing believed him,now in hot 90 degree weather took to certified air condition repair and he inspected and said did you wreck this car in the front end at any time? And I said no,then I told him I have the car fax when I bought this car and only 1 owner before and no accidents reported. Then he said the condenser was cracked,he said he never repaired a condenser that was cracked only one that was crashed in the front end!!!! I was shocked and then became worried about our car. Had the repair made of replacing the condenser. $$$$$$$.

Had brought the car in Dec 02. not the time you chk for air conditioner. In summer figured it wasn't working properly took back to dealer who did replace but it only lasted 1 season by that time the warranty per dealer was out and haven't had the funds to have it fixed again. So consultation is only a few days a year that its needed but it takes 20minutes before the heater will warm up the car I think it is all connected but cant and haven't been able to get a reasonable answer.

This is but on of many problems with this vehicle. The pulley in the AC stopped working so the entire unit needed to be replaced. The dealer is a bad place to go for repairs because the rip you off and seem to enjoy it.

Man that AC condenser went bad in 2004 and i didn't have money to replace condenser so i drove my suv 3 years without AC and finally i got tired and borrowed some money and fixed in 2007. Later i realized its a common problem but Buick won't accept it. There are lot of other this model has problems......Sorry No more GM nor any Americans car since they are not very reliable....

Rendezvous CXL AWD 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 68,000 miles

I purchased my first american car/suv 2002 Buick rendevous cxl, awd, factory wheels, etc- Loaded 68,000 miles 5/07-"BUICKS FLAGSHIP" (vs the last 10 years, toyotas -12ea) because my friend is a broker and he told me your quality is a lot better now then before, WELL NOT TRUE, within the first week i had to replace a defective gas tank it took an act of congress to get one (2003 and up had recalls but of course not mine). i had to call and wait 2 weeks and get approval to get one, $1500.00.

Next a/c broke, transmission, brakes, sunroof, overheating, burning oil (1 qt per week). Bottom line I've spent more on my Buick to repair than 10 years of "NO REPAIRS AT ALL" on my vehicles with some over 100,000 miles - my toyotas. WHY????????? I'll never buy another GM anything. A very disappointed American in our lousy Quality.

My toyotas have/had a better quality, no repairs, better residual value (my Buick depreciates $100/month since i bought it. Yet my 4 runner doesnt WHY???) I had a compressor go on my 1999 Toyota 4 runner fixed under warranty) other than that ive never been towed (have AAA for my Harley it broke too USA made, sold for kawasaki no more repairs). I dont understand how a company like BUICK can produce such a lousy product and sell cars and stay in business. If i had to rely on usa made cars i would have been out of business 15 years ago. Im a traveling salesman i only do 40-50k miles per year, Ive been doing it for 25 years. My first year in sales I was told by a friend who told me to buy a Mercedes pay triple for it and drive it for 10 years and save $100,000 on american made cars.I DID NOT LISTEN i spent/Lost over $100,000 in next 10 years on usa made cars plus repairs. I hate fords every one i owned needed 1-3 transmissions (have had 10 mustang convs) all broke, then i found out about the Celica GT Conv 1993 (sticker $28,000) bought for $5000 (all advertised for sale have over 120,000 miles) runs like a top, no repairs. You show me a usa car with those miles that still runs.

MY Whole complaint is BUICK. Lousy Workmanship and Quality and value and you want $42,000 for the new Buick Flagship SUV. I'd buy a Toyota for less first. Look over the past 10 years (kbb, nada, edmunds)on your suvs/and/or others vs Toyota and see at 120,000 miles which one, #1 still runs and #2 will still bring a good price on trade/sale/auction. It's not Buick.

It's just very sad that I'm reading all these notifications of condensors gone bad and GM doesn't have any liability. I'm just living without my aircon but I think if it's affecting so many cars, perhaps there should be some litigation going on here.

We bought the used vehicle from a dealer in November in Wisconsin, never thinking to check the AC. When June came along, we tried the AC and it didn't work. This all happened just before a planned trip and several weekends of weekend guest. Not a good time to have a problme- logistically or financially!! The broker who found the vehicle for us wasn't able to do anything to help.
