Prior to "callback" there were occasions when vehicle would be driven and parked into garage at home that slight amount of smoke would rise from hood and cowl area...Fairly strong "stink" of overheated oil...Problem was that rocker cover gasket was permitting oil to leak onto hot exhaust manifold...GM did themselves a great disservice with regard to owner PR....They authorized replacement only of the front cylinder bank gasket !!!... YOU HAVE THE SAME GASKET/EXHAUST MANIFOLD SITUATION AT THE REAR CYLINDER BANK !!!...At the rear bank evidently the "weeping" oil did not drip onto its adjacent exhaust manifold....HERE YOU HAVE REMAINING A POOR QUALITY GASKET THAT PERMITS OIL TO DRIP ONTO GARAGE FLOOR !!!....GM saved pennies on inferior gaskets that not only induced a fire hazard, but cost them, I am sure, way beyond initial saving to purchase better quality gaskets and to replace same !!!..."Penny Wise/Dollar Foolish !!"....It would be interesting to research number of fires/if any, caused by this oil leakage onto hot manifold...??? How many of this basic V6 engine model used across GM's lineup ???...
