I was driving my 2000 Buick Regal coming back from work, as I was driving and about ready to go into a steep turn, my stereo system first completely shut off, then everything else in my car failed as well, engine, power steering, etc. I was barely able to get it to the side of the road and when I tried to restart it, it barely turned over. Clearly there is an electrical problem in these vehicles and my car hasn't even reached 100,000 miles even.

I was driving on a road at about 35 mph, I signaled to turned right and my vehicle went dead(the engine stopped-no steering or brakes.) fortunately, no one was driving behind me. I came to a halt and tried starting the engine multiple times, but all that happened was the dashboard lights would flash. Finally, I tried moving the turn signal up and down and it started! since then this has happened multiple times. This should not happen on a low mileage car or any car! I have almost gotten into multiple accidents!

2000 Buick Regal. Consumer writes in regards to a defective ignition switch malfunction and requests reimbursement for replacement costs. The consumer stated his wife was driving, when the engine suddenly stopped. All of the instrument lights were flashing. His wife managed to make it home. His wife stopped driving the vehicle, so the consumer drove the vehicle, and a month later, the engine died at a stop sign. A few miles later, the engine stopped again, as he was turning off the highway. The steering and braking required considerable strength. As he drove four miles home, the vehicle stopped two more times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where a diagnosis revealed a defective ignition switch. Also, the oil pan gasket was replaced, due to an oil leak. Updated 06/05/14. Updated 08/07/14

Driving on the highway and all of a sudden, all the lights at the dashboard came on. Went to the nearest exit and park in a parking lot. Tried to restart the car again but would not. When clicking, all the lights at the dashboard comes and starts blinking and flashing. Checked and replaced a new battery but that was not the solution. Can start but when you engage or try to turn the turning signal either side, the car turns off. I had to tow my car to the garage where they put it on the machine and found out about a. fault ignition switch and the. Computer. Replaced all of the them but still. Some lights keep coming on.

I had stopped at store on way home from work. When I came out of store I noticed smoke coming from under the hood of my car. I popped the hood and saw my engine on fire and proceeded to try and put the fire out. I took my jacket off and started hitting the engine and this burned up my jacket and scorched my hand. An employee from the store came out with a fire extinguisher and put out the fire. The fire department was called but fire was out before they got there. It burned up the entire top and sides of my engine. Their was a recall that would have stopped this but I did not receive it.
