"Cheapo" motor..."Oilite" bushings in motor are a kind of "metallic sponge" and are loaded with lubricating oil...."Modern" vehicles the blower does not shut off...Can only be turned down to a very slow speed..THESE "CHEAPO" MOTORS RUN VERY HOT AND ARE COOLED BY "AIR-OVER-MOTOR" FLOW...The motor armature shaft transfers a lot of heat to the Oilite bushings and "cooks" the oil out of the bushings...You then have metal-on-metal rubbing, the bushings bore enlarges to where the fan assembly is initially noisy (squeals) then finally where motor armature hits the pole pieces/magnets and motor fails to run...TO MINIMIZE OCCURRENCE THESE MOTORS NEED QUALITY "SEALED BALL-BEARINGS" INSTEAD OF THE OILITE BUSHINGS....MODERN VEHICLES PLACE INORDINATELY HIGH DEMAND UPON THESE FAN MOTOR ASSEMBLIES...When running in heater mode these motors are exposed to extremely more heat than when air conditioning...JUNK...Read more complaints to same vehicle...
