my air conditioner works only half of the time. It is cold when it works and hot when it decides not to. I has something to do with the temperature gauge for the outside. When it is reading the outside temperature correctly it works, when it decides it is 34 degrees outside and it is in reality 90 degrees it stops blowing cold air.

It isn't solved yet-hoping you can help. Sometimes the air comes on immediately. sometimes there is a 10-30 second delay. Now, it may take 4-6 minutes for it to kick on. Yesterday, it didn't come on at all during a 1 hour drive. this morning, it came on in about 10 minutes. When the blowers kick on, the air is cool so I know it isn't the freon. It is 100+ degrees in Memphis now-is there someting my husband can do to repair it? The repair shop can't get to it till next week!
