CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2006 Buick Rainier has a lot going for it and just a few issues that keep it from making our "best vehicles" list.
The good news is the SUV has a quiet interior (thanks to triple door seals, acoustic laminate glass, and thicker sound-absorbing pads), a low number of overall complaints, and a RWD system which offers good balance and handling.
Unfortunately, it received poor safety ratings in crash tests, owners report that the gas gauge is unreliable, and there was a large recall for melting power window switches.
So close, Buick. So close.

This is not the only problem I have. I had to replace my power steering lines as they leaked so bad that it made my wheel sensors on all 4 tires go bad. I constantly have trouble with the stabilitrack. My front door handles both broke and no sooner than i got those fixed now both rear door handles are broken. My linkage broke. I constantly have to replace my head lights three on drivers side in one year. My heater fan quit working but was able to locate a switch under the dash that appeared to have almost caught fire. That part I replaced.
My doors periodically get stuck in the locked position. Especially my passenger's rear door. This problem is on going. My a/c even when charged does not and never did function properly. My drivers control panel was replaced via recall. I love the SUV but I cannot afford all this bullshit. I had to replace the motor because it threw a main bearing and it only had 160,000 on it. I am really disappointed in buick/gm.
