Before I bought this car, I had the front hubs replaced because of the whine that was noticeable at 45 m.p.h and above, but would disappear when rounding a curve to the left. That time it was the passenger front hub. A year later I took the vehicle back to the dealer with the same issue. They warranty replaced the hub. 14 months later I begin hearing the same sound. I questioned the dealer and found they were using hubs from Autozone. Being as the last 2 hub changes had to do with the front hubs I figured this noise was coming from the same spot. After I took it to a mechanic and had the front 2 hubs changed with quality Moog hubs, the noise persisted. (would go quiet when pulling left at highway speeds) I purchased 2 rear hubs and changed them out myself. Both felt like they had a dry bearing, they actually spun freely, and no noise could be observed by just spinning a tire. There was no play in either one, but the one on the driver side was causing a hum at 40 and above. Used never-seize on all the surfaces where part meets the chassis. The job took about 90 minutes per side. Have some Freeze-off handy to penetrate the rust. An 8 pound sledgehammer is a must to "talk" these parts away from the frame.
