car will accelerate on it own. the rpms tops 5 in the car while in neutral until a controlled stop and engine turn off. the engine is accelerating and thereby the pitons are burning up inside the engine. this has now happened over a half a dozen times and the severity was reviewed by the dealer repair. it will now go in to dealer again for a better review.

what is the cause. there were no codes.

ideas are transmission cellinoid, torque converter, accelerator cable, computer module control are at the top of my list. you may add more.
