I purchased a Buick Lucerne 2007 from Southern Chevrolet Cadillac, Inc. Less than six months ago. I also purchased the extended warranty for the vehicle. less than 48 hrs later the vehicle started running hot and overheating I contacted the Southern Chevrolet Cadillac, Inc. And they arranged for a tow truck to bring the vehicle back to their location for repairs from a GMC dealership 40 miles from theirs.
I was informed the clamp for the radiator had slipped lose and that was the reasons for the overheating. The vehicle was repaired and returned at no costs because it was covered under the extended warranty. This past weekend (July 20-21) the vehicle started running hot again and stopped on me about 70 miles from my home. I contacted OnStar and they ran a remote diagnosis and told me my transmission had gone out. The vehicle was towed to Southern Chevrolet Cadillac, Inc. On Monday (July 22, 2013), I was told by Karen in the service department my warranty needs to be verified.
After it was verified the next day (7-23-13) Karen told me the warranty was verified and the service department found the problem was the radiator and an adjustor need to examine the vehicle before any repairs could be done. Today (7-24-13) Karen called me and stated the warranty did not cover the radiator, and because it does not cover the radiator the damages to the motor and transmission cannot be repaired due to the radiator being the cause of the breakdown. I told her that the vehicle broke down less than a week of purchase due to the radiator and it was repaired. I was under the impression each time a vehicle is worked on the Vin number must be enter to note the repairs. Well today I was told no record showed any repairs.
I informed Karen that I missed work on Monday, had to pay for a ride today (7-23-13) and this is causing me a hardship. I asked her if Southern Chevrolet Cadillac, Inc. would provide me a loaner vehicle while the repairs process is being conducted, she stated no. The adjustor must examine the vehicle first and that normally takes 24-48 hours.
I tried to explain my having to pay someone to take to work, and that I have a new born baby and not having a vehicle is really difficult at this time, she seem dis-interested, and slightly agitated. My concerns are being stranded, not receiving any compassion from the representative (Karen). I love the vehicle! When operating properly it is awesome car, but the breakdowns have not been my fault, and may be factory concerns please review the car facts. When I purchased the vehicle I was told an extended warranty would cover this type of repairs! I just want my car fixed, and to be provided transportation while the vehicle is being repaired.
Please look into this matter for me!
