My daughter and I both drive this car. I do not remember any preceding events that would have caused this sensor to fail. I took it to a mechanic that read the code and declared it needed a sensor that is in the shape of a 2" square block. It is tied into the backside of the front bumper (there's another one in the back bumper that throws it's own unique code) with a single screw through the center. You can see it by peering down behind the radiator fans. He swapped it out it in a couple if minutes, I wasn't there so I can't vouch for the specific procedure. I did try to source the part used, but had no luck. I priced the part in October 2012 and it was $140, and by the time I decide to order the part the GM dealer wanted $166. Then add on the $50 for the mechanic to swap it out, and it's a $216 fix.
