LeSabre Custom 3.8L, V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 30,000 miles

A D V E R T I S E M E N T S

Car started using a quart of oil about every 1000 miles at about 30,000. My local mechanic, who kept my 1998 LeSabre running, and replaced 4 intake gaskets, when it would drop the coolant, says "he thinks" replacing the lower intake gasket would stop the oil use. Notice--he is not sure. We can't find a leak, and there is no smoke, but that oil is going somewhere, and obama tells us we are not drilling for more. The car now has 41,000 miles on it, and is basically still new.

LeSabre V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 30,000 miles

We are being told that this model vehicle is expected to burn one quart of oil every

1,500 miles driven. That requires a quart of oil to be added in between oil changes.
