The dashpad on my Buick 2004 LeSabre has "buckled / peeled" i.e., pulled away from where it normally meets the base of the windshield. When I took it to the dealership (Ray Buick, Chicago) the Service manager said it had probably been out in the sun and warped by the heat. Not the case, garage kept for most of the time ... I've driven Buicks, Pontiacs, over the years and always parked outdoors ... in the hot sun, freezing temperatures ... and NEVER had this issue.
I contacted Buick directly and they said there were no other complaints ... I joined the Buick Owners forum and found several. As we see other LeSabre's of 2004-2005 vintage I have several pictures of this problem. This is a manufacturing defect - the lip is too narrow and the adhesive failed. Seeking to get a group complaint together to take to Buick to get this addressed ... repair / replacement costs have been quoted at $1100. . I am extremely disappointed in the response from Ray Buick (Chicago) that was purposefully misleading the consumer ... they've been around too long not to know this was not caused by the environment !! rmpb2004
