Took to shop. Estimate of repair between $800 and $4000. Wife's car she's not sure she wants to fix.

The car stalled out and required towing home. Estimate based on clean or dirty repair. Clean= replacement of manifold w/ no extra changes. Dirty= replace manifold w/ possible head involvement. Pissed that GM will not acknowledge and make good on their product. If there is a fault in the engine, step up and fix. GM used to stand for quality.

LeSabre Custom 3800

  • Automatic transmission
  • 106,974 miles

Just today, for the first time ever, there was a puddle of coolant under my 2003 LeSabre 3800. The coolant appears to be coming from somewhere above the water pump. I already read a lot about intake manifold gasket failures and I would say that this seems the most likely cause at this point, but I have yet to look into it more closely. Any tips would be much appreciated; I will be fixing this myself.
