One day the dash lit up like a Christmas tree, the gauges went dead, no windows, door locks, trunk lock, fob wouldn't work, car wouldn't crank. No interior lighting. Would sometimes hit a bump and it would either occur or correct itself. Security light was on with or without the key or engine running. Replaced the ECM and it was fine for a week, flashed a problem once and started acting up 90 days later. The car has a PSK3 system.

I was advised to remove the battery cables and short them to reset the computers. Every time I went to do that the car would go back to normal but finally nothing worked so I did rest the computers but to no avail. Next I followed the procedure to reset the security system and have the transponder key relearn the code. Still no start the first time but started on the second try. Not long after shutting the car off in this mode, the trunk lid would open and the interior lights would go on and stay on drawing down the battery AMPERAGE not voltage. Last month the battery passed a load test and yesterday it was "weak" on the meter scale so I trickle charged the battery and everything went back to normal EXCEPT the rear windows don't work and the interior lights don't go on when the doors are opened. The a/c isn't working either and I never knew if it was ever working. I bought the car used 6 months ago w/171Kmiles from a dealer.
