Identifying a design fault. All four brake pipes were rusted through at the front termination at the ABS block inboard of the left front wheel.

This area is covered by a gravel deflector.

With regular car wash and underbody sprays, it was felt that road salt would have been removed from the pipes to prevent untimely corrosion. However, such car wash spraying does not reach the pipes at their front termination because of the deflector being in the way.; Therefore spray is collected and retained in that area and resists removal because of the deflector.

Bad idea.!!
