About 3 weeks ago, fender panel on passenger side started peeling on edge where you lift the hood. About 3 days ago, paint started chipping off from primer and show signs of rust coming thru the primer. Took it to car paint shop and was given a quote of 1,200 dollars to repaint and a recommendation that I take it to the Buick dealer that has been servicing the car to see if they would cover the repair.

Since the car has about 31,000 miles on it and GM warranties the car up to 24,000 miles. it's doubtful that they will fix the problem,. I have had previous issues this past year when they refused to cover the peeling of the clearcoat on the window posts after they detailed the car. This car has been washed only by myself and detailed 3 times by a Buick dealer since I purchased it in 2018 and had less than 8000 miles on it.. This is the 3rd time that I have had to get repairs on paint peeling off the car. Seems like paint peeling is a common problem on the latex-based paint that GM uses on their cars. I hope that if other car owners are experiencing paint issues, they should post here or any other social media sites if they do not get a satisfactory solution from GM..
