The contact owns a 2016 Buick Lacrosse. While the vehicle was in reverse, the contact attempted to shift into drive, but the vehicle failed to move forward. In addition, while accelerating from a stop, the vehicle failed to move forward. All the warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel, including the check engine wrench, traction control, and stabilitrak. In addition, the speedometer and temperature indicators would go to zero. Also, when driving 50 mph, the rpms would go up and down. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to texan GMC Buick (18225 eastex fwy, humble, tx 77338, (281) 973-3117) six times where it was diagnosed that multiple failure codes were found and there was a loss of communication. The dealer performed a calibration and cleared all the codes. The vehicle was test driven and all the gauges were at zero. The following failure codes were found: U0100-U2099-U0140-U0120 (stored in trans, BCM, park brake, fuel pump control module, engine control module failing intermittently, replace engine control module assembly, performed programming and mobilizer learn and setup procedures, clear fault, and road test). The failure recurred and the vehicle was taken back to the dealer. The manufacturer was notified of the failures and provided case number: [xxx]. the approximate failure mileage was 30,000. The contact owns a 2016 Buick Lacrosse. While driving 3 mph in a parking light and making a slight turn, the vehicle accelerated forward. The contact stated that the floormat was not in the correct position. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The contact called on star and was informed that the vehicle was performing as designed. The local dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 13,826.

Adaptive cruise engages antilock brakes in a random manner even when no car is in front of you when the vehicle is in motion at a variety of different speeds. Has happened multiple times for several months.

This is to amend complaint number 11051891. Cause of unintended acceleration was aftermarket floor mat installed by the Buick dealer! floor mat has diagonal grooves molded into the rubber in exactly the worst spot such that the corner of accelerator pedal catches in the groove and holds the throttle wide open. I guess they didn't learn from the Toyota / Lexus disasters and darn near killed me in the process!

From standing stop or while in motion at highway speeds, stomp the accelerator to command immediate acceleration: Accelerator sometimes sticks in wide open throttle resulting in unintended sustained acceleration. First counter-measure tried - slap the gear selector handle to neutral position; however, engine remains in wot condition. Second counter-measure - push the engine off switch and coast to a stop. Third counter-measure - stop the accelerator pedal again until it comes un-stuck. In light of the effectiveness of counter-measure #3, I believe the fault is in the linkage from the accelerator pedal to the throttle control - probably in the accelerator pedal linkage itself.
