The rear brake pads and rotors had to be replaced only six months and 8000 km after doing the fronts. I feel this is premature. The mechanic said the brake pads were so corroded they practically fell apart in his hands. The car may be five years old but it seems too soon to me.

I have never had to replace brakes with this kind of low mileage before. My wife's 2008 Pontiac G5 went over 90,000km before they were replaced, for example.
