I took it to the dealer - they just wanted me to pay $1050.00 to replace the battery and not fixed the issue. Now I got a charging system failure. I've had the dc converter check and the starter is working great. I'm doing a little digging these dummies know the issue and want to pass off to the customers. I'm retired - I got all day to call their offices and bug the crap out of them.

Update from Mar 17, 2021: I updated the local GMC dealership. The service crew are very helpful to replace the hybrid battery at a cost $940.00 due to it having a bonded title. If I had a regular title they would have covered the repairs under some recall issues.

I have been experiencing this car shutting down and repowering itself back up since June. It has really gotten bad since Aug 1st 2020. Now it shuts down and I have no control or power until I pull off the road and shut car down and repower it. The battery lights comes on when car power itself down. I have taken car to two Buick dealerships and no one has been able to fix it. But I have large bills where they say let's try this and let's try that. Oil changes only last 30 days @ 98$ each. When I check oil on day 31 I have no oil. I have to carry oil in car at all times. Now I am being told Transmission fuel is low, but only a dealership can change it.

I've never had a problem with the car before now. Last night when I started the car, and it sounded strange. Went about 100 feet and stopped. When I tried to start it, would not turn over, windshield wipers started, strange noises were made, some warning sign came on the dash, and it stopped. When I tried to start it again, it would not do anything. Thought it might be the battery and had a friend jump it. Started for about 5 seconds, but the car would not move, I couldn't turn the steering wheel, and it died. Could not the get the keys out of the ignition. Had to have it towed to a garage. Tow driver suggested that it might be the alternator. Car has fewer than 20,000 miles and is less than 2 1/2 years old.

Thank goodness I was in a safe place. The situation could have been very serious if I had been stranded without any way [no cell phone] to contact help.

Update from Mar 3, 2016: Card dealer told me they had charged the battery [NOT replaced it] and it was ready to go. When I went to pick it up, SURPRISE, SURPRISE, it would not start. Had to wait for them to put a new battery in. He said the alternator was ok. Hope that's true!

One thing that really bothers me is that there was NO indication of any sort that let me know the battery was about to go bad. Hope I don't get stranded again.
