problem #2

Feb 112016

LaCrosse CXS

  • Automatic transmission
  • 66,700 miles

This seems to happen most often when it is cold or rainy. Brought it to the dealer about a year ago because this was repeatedly happening. They "couldn't duplicate" the problem. I cannot keep anything of value in this car because I never know when the trunk will pop open. Buick has no recall on this, so I am stuck.

problem #1

Jul 012013

LaCrosse CXL V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 10,250 miles

for months, the trunk would open by itself. Dealer supposedly fixed problem but still happens every so often. Then the inside trunk release handle would catch on the trunk storage net and would only allow the trunk to partially open. Now it will not unlock by either one of the remotes; by using the console release button; nor by using the button under the trim plate on the trunk itself.

Had had problems with the door and dash trim getting smudges all over, the seat control buttons not working, the remote start feature not working; terrific wind noise at speeds over 40 mpg; chimes going off 3 times every mile you travel...never ending. Maybe Ford does have a better idea - I dumped Ford 40 years ago because their transmissions were terrible and the cars seemed to fall apart once warranty expired....maybe its time to try again.

Update from Jul 29, 2013: Problem is related to the emergency "in the trunk" release handle that is required by law....handle hangs from trunk lid and catches on the cargo net (if you have one attached) and will not allow the trunk release to function. The only way to enter the trunk is to fold down the rear seat and either crawl into the trunk or use one of those long handled "grabber" devices to reach in and free the emergency handle from the cargo net and you can then open the trunk
