relay # 35 melted in the fuse/relay box

My 2007 Buick Lacross shut off while driving down the highway with my wife and kids in the car. I got over to the side had them jump a concrete wall (wife with a 15 month old and 4 month old) I opened the hood and there was smoke coming from fuse box. When I opened the fuse box it was melted. I called Buick 1st thing Monday morning (happened on a sat evening) and was giving the run around about how someone will contact me. this is due to a recall which the claim to have no remedy for. I am out a car had to call off work and Buick will not help me all due to their faulty car!!!!

The original problem occurred about a year ago when the low beam headlights quit working as I was driving. I replaced relay # 35. This Friday morning I went out to find the headlights were on. There was an acrid smell of something burning. I tried to turn the lights from auto to off but that did not work. Also the car would not start. I decided to disconnect the battery negative terminal. That is when I noticed the melted area on the fuse / relay box. I later opened the box to find the #35 relay had melted and also damaged # 36 and #44. also one wire from the box melted in two and was stripped in insulation for about 8 inches. I pulled relays # 35 and #36 and was able to get the car started.

From what I see online this seems to be an ongoing problem with Buicks for several years. I will begin warning others I know with Buicks. Why hasn't GM issued a recall or at least a warning and preventative measures that could be taken?
