pretty badbrakes problem
Noticed brakes not grabbing enough 3 days earlier and thinking to take to dealer to fix soon. Had accident because of brakes malfunction. Came to stop lite and pumped three times to stop. Noticed brakes not stopping right and only 15 miles an hour approaching one truck already stopped at stop lite. So to avoid direct rear end hit, swerved to right shoulder hoping to avoid accident and enjoy in grass field on road side or road shoulder. My 3 1/2 months old Buick 2018 Encode SUV scraped the trucks right side and my vehicle turned on right side because of steel guard rail and area of stopping. My side air bags on windows deployed. Luckily the other front passenger and me were not hurt. I just bought insurance online and did not understand enough and only had coverage for the other vehicles repair. Tow bed truck delivered to original Buick dealer and quoted more to repair than my initial new cost. Therefore, found another body shop to just get it repaired to drive and maybe recover enough to resell. So, the Detroit GM investigators came here to see it. Was told my claim for settlement denied. I do know the brakes are not functioning properly and even my body shop man noticed when he drove it off the truck bed. So just short drive to my garage unsafe brakes. Called dealer and tow truck delivered to dealer as unsafe to even drive there. They waited for GM inspectors and when I recently told manager denied settlement claim, he refuses to even repair brakes under new car warranty. So I have complaint to let them repair brakes or make settlement. Feel bad as waited for GM inspectors to arrive and still have not driven car since accident in July 09,2018.

Since I purchased this car I have been afraid of the brakes failing. From the beginning I felt that the brakes didn’t engage right. When I take it in for an oil change, I always get the courtesy multipoint vehicle inspection and recently I had them adjust the brakes because they are too soft for me. The folks at John Mills Chevy Buick GMC in Conyers adjusted the brakes at no charge. In the meantime, I will be bringing it back to replace the brakes all the way around. Before taking it to John Mills, I too was afraid of getting into an accident because the brakes didn’t engage properly. I’m still aware of possibility of brake failure but I limit the usage of this car. In fact I stopped riding with my grandkids in the vehicle.
