Let me tell you about the latest nightmare I’ve had with my 2017 Buick Encore, which has only 48,190 miles on it. You’d think a car with such low mileage would be dependable, right? Wrong!
So, the check engine light comes on, and I take it to a service center, expecting a straightforward fix. After running a slew of tests, they discover that the first cylinder is misfiring. Fine, let’s change the spark plugs and coils—maybe that will do the trick. Nope! Next, they check the fuel injectors, and still, no luck.
Then they take a look at the cylinder pressure, and guess what? Cylinder 1 has only 60 psi! They do a wet pressure check, and it barely improves. So, they scope the cylinder and find that the pistons were manufactured poorly, causing damage to the cylinder itself. And the result? I’m now facing a complete engine replacement. Seriously?
I can’t wrap my head around how a car with fewer than 50,000 miles on it can have such a catastrophic failure. It seems like a total scam! The service center even had the audacity to say there’s nothing they can do and that this is just how GMC makes money. Talk about salt in the wound!
It’s beyond frustrating to invest in a vehicle that lets you down so soon. I just can’t believe the lack of quality and reliability. Who else is tired of dealing with these shoddy cars? It’s about time we start holding these manufacturers accountable!
