When this issue occurs I am traveling (usually at a higher speed) and the engine appears to lose strength. The Check Engine Light comes on when this occurs and will stop providing full strength in 4th or higher gear. What I mean by this is that In 4th I can gain a little speed but not very much, in 5th I can only maintain speed but not gain, and in 6th I lose speed with the pedal all the way pressed in. 3rd gear and below all work fine. When I turn the car off and let it sit for a few minutes then turn it back on it returns to normal operation however the Check Engine Light remains lit for a few days.
