I stopped at the dealership for a small engine noise issue. On the way to the dealership, the heat control lights stopped working. At the dealership the service advisor told me to start the car, but the car was dead. I was told I needed a software update for $200 plus, and the problem seemed solved.
A couple months later, the console lights went out. I stopped the car at a service station, turned the engine off and restarted and everything works. This has happened numerous times over the next few months. I called service and they said there was nothing they could do except for me to bring it in when it happens. One month ago, I had my tires changed at a local repair shop, and the mechanic went to take my car out. Once finished, the car was dead - the lights would come on but it wouldn't turn over. He said the ECM was bad and needed to be reset. I told him push it outside and I'll have the dealer come pick it up. I went to the shop went to my car and it started, with no console lights. I went to the dealer turned off and back on, and all problems went away.
