Reduced Engine Power While Driving

CarComplaints.com Seal Of This Might Hurt

CarComplaints.com Notes: Buying the first model year of any vehicle is rarely a good idea. You become a guinea pig for the automaker and they are really not nice to guinea pigs.

The 2008 Enclave has a wide enough range of problems to issue a warning. There's transmission failure under 90k miles, new power steering units costing over $1,300, and enough engine complaints to NHTSA to scare anyone away.

Enclave CX 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission

THIS IS THE WORST CAR WE HAVE EVER HAD. IT APPEARS THAT THERE'S IS NO FIX FOR IT. I HAVE FOLLOWED SEVERAL FIX IT REPORTS AND NONE WORK. THE CAR, WHENEVER IT WANTS TO, SIMPLY REDUCES POWER AND YOU HAVE TO PULL OVER AND LET IT SIT A FEW MINUTES, RESTART IT AND THEN CONTINUE. I have had several different diagnostics for this problem and none are the same.

Enclave LX V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 87,500 miles

traction light and engine light came on. power reduced

Traction, Engine and Power Reduced lights came on and the car started barely moving because that evidently reduces the engine power so it drives really slow. I think it was a sensor, but they said it would have cost $800 of they did not have it happening a lot and so they covered it even though it is 2016 and we bought it in 2007. Two weeks later it is not shifting out of first gear. This car has had the transmission rebuilt TWICE exactly two years ago. It is a lemon.
