I was in a serious car accident when I was visiting N. myrtle beach, S.C. a driver ran a red light and hit me on the drivers side going about 60 mph. The car was totaled. I had to be cut out of the car. The steel bar in the door probably saved my life but the side air bag did not deploy which could have prevented my head from hitting the bar between the two doors and I gashed my head besides all the other problems with being hit like that. I notified the browns Buick people when I returned from S.C. and asked them why or didn't it have a side air bag. My sales rep. Godfrey, the sales manager, the finance manager wre all told and I aksed where the air bag should have come out. I bought a replacement vehicle same make model but a 2001. I asked my salesperson, godfre to show me where the air bag should come out on the drivers side. He showed me where. I told him againg and the sales manager but mine did not go off. I was suffering and did not push. I left and did not think about it again until later. I called the buidk headquaters and asked them about it but told them the car saved my life since the steel bar was in the door. I thought I'd tell you this cause I just discovered there was a recall. I was never notified about any recalls. I am upset with them right now about another problem with my 2001 Buick which I just wrote you another complaint. I feel that you should know this. I said something to them again today at browns and headquaters and they generally are dismissing me. I spoke to ted iback at browns and Mr. Peres at headquarters. I told them they should be concerned about peoples safety and that they should have reported it to someone to take care of the problem when I told them in Nov. Of 2000 when I bought the replacement vehicle. Thanks for listening.
