I was driving with my family in the car, had been having slight issues from the vehicle, nothing major. then suddenly, the car drops into cruising gear. i'm on the way to the scrap yard to drop off some metal for cash, and the car is acting up. mom freaks out, brother laughs, i start cursing. the car only does it at a steady 55 mph crusing speed. accelerate or slow, it stops. my first thought is transmission. then i get to the scrap yard, and leave the engine running so the scrappers don't mistake it for a scrapped vehicle. and i notice, as i'm removing the metals from the trunk, that the exhaust is popping. like when you pop small firecrackers, just not as loud. i put my hand down there, and got a blowout of fresh gasoline on my hand. i then realised that at least one cylinder was not igniting. took the car to a mechanic friend, and he hears it run for ten seconds (no kidding), and says "dude. go get some new plugs, some new wires, and clean out the plug ports. it'll fix it." i did it, and the car fired right up. ran right, cruised right. do NOT use the original brand of plugs that come in this car, i have seen multiple cases of them being severely fouled within weeks of being installed.
