- Summary
- SUBJECT 12V Battery Discharge Message (CCM 794) After Charging. When starting the vehicle after fully charging it over a period of several hours, a 12V battery discharge Check Control Message (CCM 229) is present. The CCM is displayed immediately after start-up, and goes away after driving a short distance. Generally, no drivability concerns are present but in isolated cases, a complete discharge of the 12V battery is possible. In this situation, the vehicle cannot be started until the 12V battery is charged. Only vehicles with an I-level of between I001-14-07-500 and I001-14-11-502 are affected. Fault code 8040B9: De-activation of terminal 30B: Top startability limit reached, is stored in the BDC. CCM 229 is shown when running the ISTA Service Function to read out check control messages. This Service Function can be run using the following path: Service Function/06_Vehicle information/Check Control messages. CAUSE A software error in the REME was introduced with I-level I001-14-07-500.
