The contact owns a 2015 BMW X5. The contact stated that while his wife was driving 65 MPH, the front driveshaft detached and damaged the transmission. The contact stated that no warning light was illuminated. The dealer stated that the U-joint had dislodged and caused the failure. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.
