The contact owns a 2014 BMW X5. The contact stated while driving 65-70 MPH, there was an abnormal sound coming from the engine. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact drove to the residence. The following day, the vehicle was towed to SLM Auto Care LLC - Audi VW BMW Porsche, where it was diagnosed that the N63 engine had failed and needed to be replaced. The mechanic also informed the contact that the N63 engine was known to consume excessive oil. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer and the manufacturer were notified of the failure. The The failure mileage was approximately 78,000.

The contact owns a 2014 BMW X5. The contact stated while driving approximately 15 MPH, the contact discovered that there was water leaking from underneath the vehicle. No warning light was illuminated. The contact researched and was made aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V608000 (Engine and Engine Cooling, Electrical System); however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the water pump had leaked onto the battery and the water pump, and the battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was 159,878.

The contact owns a 2014 BMW X5. The contact stated while driving at 30-50 MPH, the accelerator pedal was depressed but the vehicle hesitated to respond. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to continue driving. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle failed to start. The contact was able to restart the vehicle after several attempts. The contact also stated that he smelled a strong oil, diesel and coolant odor inside the vehicle while driving. The contact stated that the failures reoccurred while driving at 30 MPH. The vehicle was taken to a nearby independent mechanic. The contact then noticed smoke coming out from underneath the hood. The contact later opened the hood and noticed that the engine components had melted. The independent mechanic referred the contact to the dealer. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel injectors had failed. The dealer diagnosed that the fuel injectors and intake manifolds needed to be replaced. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V907000 (Fuel System, Diesel). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.
