broken drive shaft damaged transmission case

After having the water pump replaced at 58k miles, I recently start hearing a low noise when I accelerate. The noise turned into a disaster last Friday( at approximately 63k miles). The drive shaft wears out. The broken shaft also damaged the transmission case. BMW knows the problem of driveshaft and extends the warranty to 10 years/100k miles. Since the transmission damage is caused by covered part, BMW also covered the cost for replacing whole transmission. Otherwise, it will cost me $10,000 to fix the problem. I also have the same transfer case problem complained in other posts.
