I bought the car as a Certified Pre-owned with 37,000 miles. It now has 86,000 miles and I am about to replace the 3rd 4th and 5th door handles (One has broken twice). BMW Palm Springs replaced the first under warranty. BMW San Diego claimed it was not a warranty issue and charged $685 to replace one mechanism. I discovered a DIY video on YouTube which shows the job can be done in less than an hour.
I do not have a family and use the rear doors very little. Yet they broke!
If there are enough instances to warrant a DIY video why wasn't there a recall to fit adequate parts.
