I waited 6 months for a brand new, custom BMW X4. I received it in Oct 2022 and drove home without issue. The next morning, when backing out of my garage, I heard the squealing. The dealership stated this is normal for a new car and give it some time. I waited until Feb 15, 2023, and took it in to the dealership for the issue. The vehicle was inspected and determined to be "operating as designed". In November 2023, it's still squealing. Same result.
The sales advisor said this is what happens with "performance brakes". I asked if all cars squeal, if this is a standard and he said no but it does occur on other brands. This has to be a factory defect if it's not occurring on other BMWs or X4s for that matter. I am very disappointed to find that I am being brushed off. I've seen other forums this issue has been reported and found someone filed a lawsuit against BMW. Honestly, I think I was sold a lemon or at a minimum was provided subpar "performance" brakes. For the price I paid for this vehicle, I should NOT have to endure this squealing. At a minimum, they should simply replace them under the warranty. Any other suggestions on how to get the manufacturer to resolve this issue?
