I have had this car to the dealer twice for the same problem. Going downhill in gear M2 I wanted to stop, but was unable to stop. I pushed and pushed on the brake pedal and the engine raced. Since I had the car only a short time, I shrugged it off and went on my way.
The second time it happened I was on the flat in gear D. Again, same thing. Came up to a stop light and could not stop. Eventually, I crawled to a stop, but the engine kept racing. I came within inches of hitting the car in front of mt. The car was towed to the dealer and they did the recall work on the brakes, but said they were unable to replicate my problem.
The third time, I was again going down hill (Steep and windy) in gear M1. A large petroleum truck was coming up the hill. I applied the brakes in order to pull over where I could to avoid hitting the truck. I pushed and pushed on the brakes, but the car would not stop, all the time the engine raced. Eventually I was able to stop enough so the truck could pass by, but had to keep my foot hard on the brake as the engine kept racing.
Again the car was towed to the dealer. They have had the car since April 10 and have not found the problem; said they could not duplicate it. They suggest I make a one and a half hour drive to the dealer to drive it for them in the hopes the problem again occurs.
I feel that this car is unsafe to drive. The problem does not occur every time, but 2 near collisions make me afraid of a more serious one. I should not have to be afraid of driving a new car.
